Saw it and loved it :)

Went in with an open mind. I thought a lot of it was cleverly done even though I don't believe it got great reviews. But I really did think it was great and terribly sad, with some really good performances from the leads and supporting actors alike. Loved the Watermill 'actor/musician' thing as well; some of the instrumental playing was superb. Craig Revel Horwood did a good job, I reckon.

Just saw it Thursday, it was pretty good. It is not a particularly good musical, but I can't imagine a better way to perform this work! The actor / musician thing worked very well, it was cool how "Joe" often played the intro to his recitatives on his flute before he began to sing. I would advise anyone who like ALW to see it, but if you are used to the good old shows like My Fair Lady, Anything Goes, Porgy and Bess, etc. I would not recommend it.

I've heard a rumour that this is getting transferred to Broadway. Is it true? Does anyone have any details if it is? And is there a chance of getting a recording, if it goes on Broadway? Pardon my idiocy. :)
