Here's some further information on all the Summer Showstoppers performers. They all have masses of experience, so it should be an amazing experience!

Earl Carpenter has played leading roles in an extensive number of West End musicals that include Darryl Van Horne in The Witches of Eastwick, Beast and Gaston in Beauty and The Beast and Courfeyrac in Les Miserables. Since February 2005 Earl has been starring as the Phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s blockbuster musical, The Phantom of The Opera, at Her Majesty’s Theatre, which will celebrate its landmark twentieth anniversary in the West End this September.

Anita Louise Combe has performed in musicals all over the world, creating the roles of Stephanie Mangano in the world premiere of the smash-hit Bee Gee’s Saturday Night Fever at the London Palladium and Betty Schaefer in Sunset Boulevard (World Premiere and Canadian Premiere). Anita is one of the very few actresses to have achieved the accolade of playing both Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly in Chicago. Anita performs regularly in cabarets and concerts including the Scintillating Sinners with fellow artistes Rebecca Thornhill and Josefina Gabrielle.

Kerry Ellis has landed the highly sought after lead role of Elphaba in forthcoming London production of the Broadway musical, Wicked. She will take over the role from Tony Award winning Idina Menzel who will reprise the part for just three months from this September. Other roles Kerry has played include Ellen in Miss Saigon the role of Meat in We Will Rock You, Eliza Doolittle in the Royal National Theatre’s highly acclaimed production of My Fair Lady and a nationwide tour of The Magic of The Musicals in which she understudied Marti Webb. Kerry is currently playing Fantine in Les Miserables in the West End.

Chris Holland has appeared in numerous musical productions both in the West End and on UK tours. He understudied the role of Chris in Miss Saigon at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane and in Out of The Blue at The Shaftesbury. He has also performed opposite Philip Schofield, as Pharaoh, in an epic two-year tour of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Chris was a semi-finalist in the BBC’s 2002 Voice of Musical Theatre Competition and was featured in the BBC series Showstoppers starring Gary Wilmot. More recently Chris played Big Macca in We Will Rock You at the Dominion and can currently be seen as the Snake Preacher in Whistle Down The Wind at the Palace Theatre. Chris will also be appearing in Dirty Dancing at the Aldwych Theatre later this year.

Ramin Karimloo began his career as lead singer with an original rock band touring the Toronto circuit. In musical theatre, Ramin’s credits include The Pirates of Penzance at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, Artie Green/Joe Gillis in a national tour of Sunset Boulevard, and in the West End as Enjolras in Les Miserables and Raoul in The Phantom of the Opera. On celluloid, Ramin has appeared in the film The Flipside and recently portrayed the role of Christine’s father in the new film version of The Phantom of the Opera and released his first solo CD, Within The Six Square Inch last summer. Ramin is currently playing Chris in the UK tour of Miss Saigon.

Rebecca Thornhill has a prolific number of credits to her name including cabarets, concerts and musical theatre. Amongst her leading roles in the West End she has played Lina Lamont in the Royal National Theatre’s production of Singing in the Rain (for which she was nominated for an Olivier Award in 2002), Roxie Hart in Chicago with David Hasselhoff, Evelyn Nesbit in Ragtime, Fantine in Les Miserables and Sukie Rougemont in The Witches of Eastwick. Rebecca recently toured in a one-woman production, Showstopper, which paid tribute to the legendary dubbing singer Marni Nixon. Rebecca will be bringing this successful production to the Jermyn Theatre this August following her appearance as Julie in the blockbuster musical Showboat at the Royal Albert Hall in June.
