Post Length of Act 1
If a fairly decent-paced performance, how long is Act 1 supposed to be? I saw "South Pacific" the other night and the pace was so slow that Act 1 was an hour and 40 minutes long!

wow, that's crazy. i've been in entire shows that were shorter than that, acts I, II AND intermission included! haha. well, when i was in a production of this show a few years ago, i seem to remember that our act I was usually aound an hour, but our director also took some things out to save time, so i dunno what it would be like in other shows. hope this helped :P

MD? Yeah, that production sucked. Amahl and the Night Visitors was a hundred time better.

We averaged an hour an act, no matter what show we did. SP was hard for us to get out in that time, though, it seemed. 1:40 is crazy though!
