I really enjoyed watching this episode of Oprah and even got misty eyed a few times during the show. I've posted the interview on my blog. Go and have a look if you missed the show. It's clear from the interviews with members of the cast and audience that The Sound of Music has touched many people's lives. So what's your favourite The Sound of Music memory?

I loved that too! It was amazing that they could collect the whole cast together for that. I watched it with my grandmother, and we talked about the first time we saw it (I was about 4, with my great-grandmother. It was her favourite).

I work in a movie rental store, and I had that playing the other day. People were coming in all day telling me how much they loved it, and what they remembered about it when they were little. Then one women came in and asked why I was watching that, when I could watch any movie in the store. All I could think was, "how could not want to watch it?"

I'm glad you mentioned this episode of Oprah, I thought it was a really great idea.

Missed it and it is a shame the video has now been removed by Oprah.

I think it was Oprah where I learned that the actress who played Liesl sustained a back injury when carrying Gretl up the stairs during their "So Long, Farewell"

I've watched it several times and can't notice so much as a flinch...

But, on topic, my favorite scene is a tie between when the kids first sing to the countess and Von Trapp discovers them. (I cry every time) and my other favorite is their dance number during the party where their attraction seems to finally boil over.
