Post Auditions this summer
This summer, my community theater will be having auditions for this show, and it will be in the fall.

I'm 30 years old now, but I'll be 31 during rehearsals. I kind of want to play the Baroness (Elsa), but I'm not exactly leading lady material. What are my chances of getting the part?

I mean, I tried out for the part of Eliza in my community theater production of "My Fair Lady" about six years ago, and didn't get it. I tried out for the parts of Tzeitel and Hodel in my community theater production of "Fiddler on the Roof" about seven years ago, and didn't get either one. I tried out for the part of Rachel Brown (as you can tell, I have the same name as the character) in my community theater production of "Inherit the Wind" about a year ago, and didn't get it. In about a week or so, I'm trying out for the part of Annie Sullivan in my upcoming community theater production of "The Miracle Worker", and I probably won't get it. What does that tell you? Am I doomed to play chorus members for the rest of my life, or what?

Awwww, don't let that get you down - it could be you've just never been what the director was looking for. This could be your chance!

So, I'll ask some relevant Elsa questions: What's your range? Do you tend to look older or younger than you are (sorry if that's too personal :D )? What song were you contemplating singing for your audition?

There's no reason why you shouldn't keep trying to get the parts you want, just have confidence! *cue music here* I think you should go for it.
