i auditioned today! i was so nervous and there were a lot of girls there trying for Liesl. I sang Till There Was You, and I think they liked it, and then they had me read for Liesl. They didn't even have me do the monologue!! Now I just have to wait for a callback. Cross your fingers for me! :|

oh and while i was singing the one lady was pointing some stuff out and highlighting it to another lady... so hopefully that is a good sign lol.

I got a callback! Wednesday at 7:00. They said they'd be testing my range, more reading, and a movement part. And to bring a kerchief for my head.

I'm excited!

well I went to the callback. It was 4 hours! Ridiculously long for community theatre when there are only about 30 people there. Anyways, they had us dance, which I didn't have a problem with, and then they had us sing Lonely Goatherd, which I do not know for the life of me. That didn't go so well. So the lady called me up to do some exercises and technique with her which went better. We did cold reading, and I was one of the last Liesls to read (there were 8 of us), but then they had me called up again in 1 turn. I'm really not sure what they are looking for, but I was the youngest there, so we'll see what comes of it!

Opening night is this Friday...I am so excited!

The show has really come together nicely.

My costumes are all really pretty....except for the uniform......yikes.

Hi there I'm new ^_^ I played Liesl April 2006 and it was probably the best experience in my theatre career. I had the most fabulous time EVER.

I have been looking for fellow "VonTrapps" to fraternize with since the show closed, so I'm happy to be here.

Hey everyone! I'm new here too!

im currently in rehearsals as liesl in the sound of music and im having the time of my life! dress rehearsals start this week and then we open! wooooo! im so excited!

only problem is at the theatre, the dress they were going to use for sixteen going on seventeen (it was soooo pretty) is lost! ahhhh! the dress they have me wearing now is so not good. hahaha we found a really good one that looks like the one in the movie, but my director hates it for some reason and wont let me wear it! = [

anyway, not only did i want to chat with other "liesls", but i also had a question. does anyone know of a theatre or costume shop in or around southern california that has a really good pink dress that would be perfect for the SOM? im hoping that if i find a good one that my director likes, that i can rent it out for the run of the show.

lets cross our fingers! haha

I just got casted as Liesl in my community theater's production this upcoming Febuary! I'm beyond excited :]

I was wondering how you guys decided to sing Sixteen Going on Seventeen. Is it more innocent or infatuated? Ha, I'm already doing my homework and we haven't started rehearsals yet!
