Hey, hey now girls. Don't fight over me :p Or, at least, my character! I think that Elsa and Maria have their strengths and weaknesses. Its my opinion that it wouldn't be a very interesting story without either. Without Elsa, we would just have: Maria meets Captain. Maria falls for Captain. Maria flees from Captain. Maria comes back to Captain. Maria flees with Captain. Blah.

And then of course without Maria: Elsa and Captain are engaged. Captain doesn't like Germans. Elsa doesn't care on way or the other. Elsa leaves. Captain is left with children.

Maria is obviously more important to the plot, however, Elsa throws another perspective into the mix. They are each other's foil, and I think it makes for a good show ^^

She is NOT A SAP! It is her strength that unites the family and also helps them to escape from the Nazis...

Don't make me prove to you that you are totally wrong! I don't pay my bills with that role for nothing! Are you saying that I'm a wimp...HUH?! LOL! And I've cyber-kicked-your-booty on many occasions, Salome! LOL!

I guess getting back ON TOPIC:

I love Elsa as well...I think you make a good point, Cosima!

How are rehearsals going?

Don't believe it. Let's face it, none of the roles in this show are is really more complex than any of the others - they're just bigger or smaller - and all are probably less complex than many female roles from other shows. But they each have their own merits and challenges. Maria, the Mother Abbess and Elsa are three very different and equally good roles.

Rehearsals are going well. My songs are proving to be a bit more difficult than I had originally anticipated. There are insane rests in both of them, that make me want to scream, however, I've managed not to give into that less than civilized urge xD

I've only had two rehearsals thus far, and am rather depressed to find that for the next month and a half, or so, I only have one a week. I'm used to having at least 2-3 a week, so, this is rather unfamilar. Still, I suppose it gives me a lot of free time to practice. Which, I should probably be doing now--I've been asked to be "off booK", as far as my music, by Wednesday. *gets to memorizing*

Cosima, congratulations on getting Elsa in SOM. You've made a lot of good points - but I for one am finding them hard to read in the font size you're using. Can you use at least normal-size font in your posts, so people can read them? Thanks.
