You'll love what Elsa gets to do in the musical version, as opposed to the movie version. I felt Elsa was somewhat under-used in the movie, with the exception of the scene where she convinces Maria to leave...(Which was added for the movie)

Elsa gets to sing two songs in this production, which is great...and, as Salome would say, they're the best songs in the show...(I would beg to differ, but they are good songs, nonetheless!)

Enjoy! It's a really fun show! (I've done it twice and would do it again!)

I sortof have mixed feelings about Elsa's role in the movie as opposed to the Musical version. In the movie, I got an entirely different viewpoint of her than I am recieving from the musical. I felt like I knew her a bit better in the movie because of some of the dialogue changes they made. Looking over my lines, she seems more playful and open to (some) adjustment. In fact, I hardly get the sense that she even dislikes children from the musical. With the exception of possibly where she says that she wont get the children's names right for awhile, she really doesn't give any indication that she wont get along with them O_o

Basically, I like the dialogue they gave to her in the movie better. However, I am quite pleased that I shall get to sing 'How Can Love Survive?' and 'No Way to Stop It'. ^^ They are fun songs, and seem different compared to the other numbers in the show.

elsa is such a fun part. if i was a girl i would want ot be her not maria. As for Ordinary couple and something good. When i did it this past summer we sang ordinary couple. i hated it at first. then we actually sped up the pace and it was just ok. it just reminds me of a funeral dirge. However, I believe, as jude mentioned earlier, it is much closer character wise then something good. When you order the rights you can only get ordinary couple. It is what is in the script. However you can pay extra money (a lot) and get teh rights to somethignn good and confidence.

I still love Maria, but Elsa is tied for second as far as my favorite roles go...She's tied for second with Mother Abbess...Nothing beats an amazing version of "Climb Every Mountain!"

Hope rehearsals are going well! Keep us posted and share stories! (I think I started a thread with experiences or something like that!) Bust some appendages! :D

Are you the one I picked that up from? I've been using it during our run of Brigadoon, and all the ladies keep twisting it. I'm sure you can all see how theatre people may misinterpret certain things.

Well, at least now I know who to blame!
I said "bust some apendages" in from of my theatre teacher- big mistake there, she didn't really care all that much for it.

I got told I was "perverting theatre history." Okay then. I'm all for resistance! Just the unarmed kind, cause guns scare me. So I'll resist peacefully. You're more than welcome to be the violent part of our reisitance effort, kinda like a yin and yang situation.
Where did you pick up that particular phrase? It's rather odd.

I had my first rehearsal last night. It was a read through of the entire show. Lets just say that all my doubts about the cast are now gone! I really think this is going to be a wonderful show, and I'm quite excited ^^ The only bad thing is, my next rehearsal isn't until Tuesday, and I really wanted to start singing >.>

*sigh* Oh well.

I keep getting alot of these: "I didn't know Elsa sang so much. Wow."
Its rather nice. No one seemed to realize that I was playing a lead part until last night O_o Fun.
