Post Hope, 1965 vs. 1987
I was wondering how many lines Hope has in the 65 and 87 version?

All the characters have more lines in the 1962 version because the script isnt as tight.

Hope for instance has about 140 lines in the 1962 version and about 80 in the 1987.

Lord Evelyn has about 130 in the 62 and about 8o in the 1987.

Reno is the only character who actually has morel ines in the 1987 version...because the 1962 version only used her as a sounding board and a jump off point for songs.

the 1987 version is closer to the original 1934 script as well.
and both are far superior to the 1962 script.

That's interesting to know. I've seen two different versions of the 62 on tape (sorry thought it was 65 in my earlier post) and wasn't as impressed as I'd thought I would be. We're doing the 87 version this coming Spring, it seems like a fun show!
