lord evelyn is the best role in the play. If performed well he literally steals the show. Now his song in the 1987 revival "The Gypsy IN Me" is a better piece than "Lets MIsbehave" in the 1962 revival but Lets Misbehave is also alot of fun.

Evelyn is a proud though slightly befuddled aristocrat..very uptight..rather niave.

That seems like a very unnecessary poll...but oh well.

Evelyn as should, imo, be played very obliviously. Hes very proper and such...but he has NO idea that other people find his behavior frustrating or hilarious. The more oblivious you play him the better his lines seem. In particular act I scene 6, in which moon TRIES to frame evelyn, Evelyns obliviousness gets a lot of laugh. He has no idea he is using hotpants out of context and that he really ought to be getting defensive with moons attitude. That seen, if played right on moon and evelyns part can steal the show (which is quite suprising...usually scenes with musical numbers do the stealing...).

Is it just me or does the phrase Lets Misbehave make you think of Les Mis?

?

Salome darling...have you been drinking?

How did what I say imply anything that could be connected to opera. His show stopping moments are in dialogue...his characterization involves being oblivious...I'm lost. Sarcasm maybe? Maybe it went over my head.

Anywho...I really wouldnt call let's misbehave a showstopper. Its a cute little thing but Evelyn sings very little of it and its more just a little ditty than a big showstopping number.

Yip, my first thought. 8O hehehe

Sorry, on subject Evelyn needs a really good old fashoihed English accent, not the kind of accent we have here now, but really upper class stuff. Get help with that [unless you are a pro and have been taught it before].

Just a helpful hint - resize your avatar, or remove it. It will cause a lot of anger. It's just a bit big
