Post monologues for the secret garden
hey all

im auditioning for the secret garden soon for my college and need to bring out a monologue.

i have no idea what to look for - be it period english or something contemporary or shakespeare.

the musical is very sung through - so im not sure what they will be wanting for us

any help would be fantastic!

ps. its for a male haha! going for good ol dickon!

Something that shows you can do Yorkshire would be my first thought.

Then consider Dickon's character: gentle, patient, in tune with nature, cheerful, happy-go-lucky, optimistic.

No idea whether you'll be able to find a monologue to fit that though, I'm afraid. Will have a think for you but I myself have never had to audition with a monologue so don't have enough experience to think of a good one off the top of my head.
