Will this show ever have a revival on Broadway? Or is that just out of the question?

If there is a revival, chances are that Stephen Schwartz will hold more sway, and with all due respect to the man, that's a bad idea in the eyes of many. The version licensed for amateur production is somewhat emasculated and very different from the original Broadway production.

Why? Well, Schwartz was dissatisfied with many of the changes instated by Bob Fosse on his "college baby," including the style of the show as it was finally set, and after the Broadway run, Schwartz had much of Fosse's material taken back out of the script and his and Roger O. Hirson's work restored. It is this tamer, watered-down version which is now available for amateur productions.

Sometimes a good director makes Schwartz's vision work, but the occasion is rare. More often than not, amateur directors add back in the Fosse material that made the show work in the eyes of many people.

Oh, well it'd be awesome if there were a revival of Pippin.

I just recently played in it and loved it. We used the amateur script and I loved it, we didn't change much, but we did change some things.

Still, it'd be awesome for there to be a revival.
