The only other very young stage Christine I can think of is British Amy Nuttall. She understudied the role in the UK tour, I think she was 16 when she started. She was quite spectacular for her age, I think.

The South African alternate Amy Hudson (now Brennan) was also rather young, 18 or 19. She later joined the World Tour as an understudy Christine. Never heard her sing, though.

Ah my mistake, it was Amy Nuttal, but I'm thinking of the wrong one. I know I've heard another 16-yr-old somewhere, I can't think where, though I do think she was a scandanavian.

Hmmm... The Scandinavians I know of who's done the role is:

Myrra Malmberg (West End)
Elisabeth Berg, Tua Åberg, Inger Olsson Moberg and Johanne Brockmann (Sweden)
Susanne Elmark, Hanne Damm, Agnete Munk Rasmussen, Viktoria Krantz, Mia Karlsson and Teresia Bokor (Denmark)

This list doesn't include understudies, but none of the understudies has been under 18, at least.

Come to think of it, current West End understudy, Katie Hall, is very young (and has a lovely voice!). She's not Scandinavian though, as far as I can tell. :)

Does anyone know who the alternate is right now? I'm seeing it this weekend and am hoping for someone good. I've only seen it live with Rebecca Pitcher and didn't care much for her.

In which country/production? Rebecca Pitcher has been on Broadway, in the US tour and in the World Tour, so I assume you mean one of those? Here's the productions currently playing:

Broadway: Elizabeth Loyacano
US tour: Kelly Jeanne Grant (I think?)
West End: Robyn North
World Tour: Julie Goodwin
Denmark: shared equally between Mia Karlsson and Teresia Bokor
Argentina: don't think there IS an alternate there
Las Vegas: Kristen Hertzenberg
Japan: Not sure
Poland: Not sure
Hungary: Not sure

Sorry I should have specified...on Broadway. So Elizabeth Loyacano then. Any thoughts on her?

I know this is old and that you've seen the show again by now (and more than that, Elizabeth has left, I saw her final Broadway performance), but I thought she was pretty good. Please keep in mind I've only seen the show once. Nonetheless, Elizabeth's performances is one of the reasons I liked it.
