I saw a performance of Sierra singing "People Will Say Were In Love" with Julian Ovenden. The description on the video said it was performed in the BBC Proms 2010. Was this performance a one time thing or were they doing the entire musical? It wasn't on Broadway, because if I remember correctly, the last revival was 2002? If anyone has information on this, I will be very grateful! Love both Sierra and Oklahoma!.

Hey, everybody. Just wanted to bump this thread because I still have found no answer. Was it in the west end? And when was her run? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it was a R&H concert. You can find videos of them singing other R&H stuff like "I have confidence" on youtube.

I didn't really like her at first. Untill I saw her version of "I have confidence in me" :) That's also the only R&H song I really like (please don't hit me. :shifty: I know they are great and fantastics and so on... I am just not moved by their shows)

you must not know many R&H songs then.. I Have Confidence isnt even an R&H song..Richard Rodgers wrote it for the film version of sound of music after Hammerstien died. its a fairly weak song as well.

you cant say you dont love songs like .. Youve got to be Taught, A Puzzlement, All at once you Love Her, YOunger than Springtime,Soliloquey, It Might as Well Be Spring, This Nearly Was Mine,The Man I Used to Be, Something Wonderful, or Blow hIgh Blow low?????

You know, sometimes, you can know something and still don't like it. It happens.
I know Aida and I find that show pretty lame.
I know R&H music (since I haven't been able to see the shows live), though not everything off course. But I still know most of the songs you named. And the truth is I am not moved by it. I am not saying R&H are bad writers (and I never will), just that their work do not move me. There is no rational explanation about it, so nothing you can say about how great they are will change that fact.

Wel at least you agree AIDA is a piece of crap.
