I dunno, I sort of have an aversion to Jud... Probably because the guy who played him in our production was a little TOO good at the part (meaning, he scared the pants off of everyone) so I got used to having to cover my ears and hum so as to not have to listen to him! I guess, in some ways, that's a compliment--but it really made me loathe Jud! Lol.

I don't know if it's the BEST song, but it's pretty entertaining... It would definitely be a shame to cut it. I'm in this show right now (or, rather, today was our last performance :( ) and our Ali Hakim was SO funny. He stole the entire show, and every night at curtain call he would get ten times the applause that any of the other characters got. :D

But personally, I like Will the best. He just seems like a nice guy, and the storyline with him and Ado Annie is a million times more interesting than the dull Curly/Laurey thing. Plus "Kansas City" and "All 'Er Nuthin'" are both cute, catchy songs.

Jud is too creepy (for my taste, ha), and Curly is just plain boooring.

I agree! I did Oklahoma! in the spring and at auditions i wanted Curly but then the show started and i realized i would have died of boredom if i got Curly.. Plus the Kansas city is thee most catchy song in the show.. dont believe me? Sing it right now and see if it doesnt get stuck in your head. And All Er' Nuthin is pretty sweet too, duh. So all in all, Curly is boring... Judd is, well, creepy and hard to watch sometimes and Will is so stupid he's funny. In conclusion.. Oklahoma! really isn't the greatest show... plus a ton of old people come with their sickness and spread it through theater. The end.

I would think Jud...it's such an interesting character...didn't the guy who played Jud on broadway win the tony for it???? I could be wrong...

and if not Jud I would say Will- because of all the dancing....or Curly- because he sings like four or five classics with the oppourtunity to make them into something really cool....

I love Curly! His character is so joyful and kind, but Jud is a pretty interesting character as well. He's extremely lonely because his bitterness has driven away nearly everybody so he's miserably isolated now. He's a complex character with a good deal of layers.

Jud for me, but then I'm biased having played the part so often. But he's pivotal to the plot, and has such a range of (negative) emotion and feeling to convey - with that bit of pathos to get out of the role too.

I'm partial towards Curly..if played right. He is FAR from boring..the actor does however need a load of charisma to do the part justice. Watch Hugh Jackman as Curly and tell me if you still feel Curly is boring. He has a lot of vivacity..and he is good hearted, fun, and kind. Everyone loves him. If I were male..I think it would fun to play him. He has a lot to work with. Poor Jud Is Daid..Surrey..Oh What A Beautiful Morning. They can all be dynamite if done right. All three of the big male roles in this show are wonderful though. It's just a wonderful show.
