Post MY FAIR LADY - in French!
I'd be interested to hear what happens to this show in translation. Are there equivalents for the two different dialects in French? Has anyone seen this show in French? Did it work in translation? And are there any flubs in the lyrics as there are in the original English score?

I know it's an old topic, but on my DVD, all of the movie was translated. Yes, including songs. Actually, this must be the worst french dubbing I've ever heard. Eliza's voice was garish and irritating even at the end of the movie, some dialogues had been changed without a reason...

If you want me to put french versions of the songs, I'll do it, but they're just so bad...In a general way, I'm for translating musicals but My Fair Lady is so deeply impregnated of english language's particularities that it wouldn't have many chances to turn out good.

At the Théâtre du Châtelet, My Fair Lady has been performed from December 2010 to March 2011, I believe. But it was entirely in english, and as many actors had a lyric training, it looked more like an opera.
