Post Differences between the OBC and the OLC recordings
These two recordings of My Fair Lady both feature Dame Julie, Harrison and Holloway. However I've got a question. How is the OLC different from the OBC? What are the strengths and the weaknesses of each? I ask from the perspective of a listener and I would like to compare the two recordings objectively. I would like to know what differences there are in the performances and the musical direction. I'm not comfortable if people say that the OLC is an inferior recording and swear by the OBC version. This version should surely have merits and there are nuances in the performances of the principals that come from performing the role hundreds of times on stage..

See http://musicals.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=16637 which explains it in quite some detail. A number of people, myself included, have posted in it. The biggest difference: The OLC album was recorded in stereo, the OBC in mono.
