Post Harold Hill Audition Help!
I'm a senior in high school and I'm trying out for Harold Hill in my school's production of the Music Man, but I can't for the life of me decide on an audition song that resembles the part without being "that guy" that does a song from the show! This is the first year my school has allowed us to choose any song we feel will show our singing ability rather than giving us a choice of audition excerpts so this is a little new to me! Does anyone have any suggestions?

(My teachers have told me Sondheim is too new to use, even though I've found a couple that I think would work."

Thank you!

Sondheim isn't a good fit for this. Pick an uptempo baritone piece from around that era. My suggestions:

"Luck Be a Lady" - Guys and Dolls
"My Time of Day" - Guys and Dolls
"A Secretary Is not a Toy" - H2$
"I'm a Bad, Bad Man" - Annie Get Your Gun
