I found one of the best things to do when mounting a production of Little Shop was to study the film genre it is based on. The horror movies of the 1950's/early 60's had a very distinct feel and the naivete of the characters and performances really give the movies and stories an earnest quality.

Suhc a shame my school isn't doing this show...I haven't seen a good production since 'You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown'.

So - the original film ending has your two main protagonists die... with no resolution. Too depressing for your average film audience. Needs the hero to Save The Day.

Do you mrean the original, cut ending of the film adaptation of the musical? Or the ending of the original movie the stage musical is adaptated from?

Because, why couldn't the movie musical end the same way as the non musical movie?
