Post Les Mis Movie Finale
This might be a really stupid/obvious question, but during the movie was the finale changed from the staged production? They cut some lyrics and added some is what I thought. I also was wondering why they chose not to have Éponine sing with Fantine as Valjean is dying. And did they cut the line "to love another person is to see the face of god"? I absolutely love the finale and especially that line, and I don't remember hearing it. I've only seen the Les Mis movie 2.5 times so I might be mistaken... :D

I think it makes a lot more sense that Éponine wasn't there singing with Fantine, and that at the end the Bishop was there, singing "To love another person is to see the face of God" which no, they did not cut.

Yes, now that you say that I remember... seeing Colm singing that line as the bishop was crucial in my opinion, not to mention emotional. Also, I agree with what you are saying about how it doesn't make much sense to have Éponine singing in the finale with Fantine, I just enjoyed the harmonies...(I'm not saying it should have been added just because of that).

IIRC, the actual written harmonies did not change, though the timbre of the "alto" line would have, since it was re-assigned to a male vocal.
