Post GUYS!!! YOUNG COSETTE AUDITION HELP ASAP!
I just found out that a theater near me is doing Les Mis in August :D !!! So as you can probably tell from my use of all caps in the subject line I am really excited about it and I want to audition for Young Cosette! So I have some questions for all of you:
1. Is 12 to old to play Young Cosette? I'm really short and can play younger!
2. Do you think I Know Things Now from Into the Woods is a good audition song? If not than what would you recommend?
3. I doubt that this will happen but if I need to prepare a monologue what do you think would be appropriate?

12 should be perfect for little Cosette, and whilst I think that I Know Things Now would be perfect for showing naivety etc and is PERFECT for range, it's not an easy song and it's easily to let the pitch slip and sound out of tune, so I'd be careful with that! If you could pull it off, I'd bet it would be very impressive and definitely wouldn't be overdone. Otherwise, I would recommend "Quiet" from Matilda the Musical. :)
I doubt you'd be asked to prepare a monologue for Young Cosette, but it probably wouldn't hurt to have a short one prepared; I would recommend the Little Lady's monologue from Tara Meddaugh's "Ferret Envy". Just a suggestion though.
Good luck, anyhow!!!

I never got to do the full show, but I did take part in a sort of semi-acted concert as young Cosette when I was 12 or 13 so I think you should be fine. :)
