So I was searching through Les Mis flash mobs on youtube and came across some great ones (a wedding one and the polish mob was fantastic) and also came across some horrible ones...haha.

But I stumbled across this one that was unique. It was done at a rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding and the groom re wrote the lyrics to One Day More. A noble task but I think he actually did a pretty good job. They aren't the best singers in the world but the creativity and joy of the moment make up for it. One of the better videos I've seen in a while...

Here's a lovely version of Les Mis school edition! My studio did it November 2011, and they're working on putting the whole thing up. If you wanna look at Prologue to In My Life/Heart Full of Love, go here: https://www.youtube.com/bksdavie
My favorite song would have to be Stars/Eponine's Errand in this production.
:D

Saw those clips a few years ago and I never would have imagined that is how their barricade moved. It's really awesome! I had read detailed descriptions in both English and Spanish and still could never make out in my head how that BEAST actually moved on stage. I just love how Gavroche runs between the halves; they look so imposing and majestic, something about the original barricades that newer versions completely ignore. To me, the barricade is like a character and have always loved the symbolic nature of it in the show. It could seem to be standing proud and strong one moment, framing the leader Enjolras at the same time, creating unforgettable stage pictures, and look totally lifeless the next, carrying the dead weight of bodies. The newer barricades, including the film version one are literally random piles of junk without shape and don't evoke anything. The original was like a sculpture that sent chills every time a cast member climbed to the top of it, framing them in such a haunting manner.

I have that Aussie Doc you so desire, Senor. I just have to find it. I recently organized some of my vast piles of junk. NO, I was not erecting a barricade! Hehe.

But, yeah, it shouldn't be too hard to find. Once I do, I'll upload and let you know.

In all fairness to the film one, it was built by the actors in a frenzied uninterrupted film sequence, not carefully designed by a Napier-like artist.

(This post is just an excuse to mention that fact again ... I have no particular feelings, good or bad, about the film barricade, but I think it's so cool that the actors built it themselves! :D )

I would have liked to see the prepared barricade for comparison. But apart from some details the movie barricade looks fine to me. Original stage barricade however will forever remain my favorite. It's big. It's dramatic. It evoked applause when the first audiences saw it form itself. The stage towers used in the tour work for most scenes, but fail utterly when it comes to the barricade. It even competes with the 98 movie one for crappiness. School productions build better ones.

Gracias senor! :) Will look forward to your upload!

Shamelessly promote a video made by me.

This is a music video made from the movie. The sound track was sung by a bunch of Chinese fans and mixed by me. The lyrics were translated by a friend of mine who sadly passed away not long ago. The video is dedicated to her.

Yeah, her name was Enjolras, and died not much older than the musical's Enjolras.
Thanks for the well-edited clip.
