Post Kelli O'Hara not right to play Anna
Two questions:

1. Do you think Kelli O'Hara is a good Anna?
2. Who is your favorite Anna and why?

I think this reviewer makes a persuasive argument that O'Hara comes off as too smart and serious to play a fitting foil to the King, and that without a hot-headed Anna, they don't have the right chemistry:

It's a long review but the part about Kelli O'Hara made me think about how hard it must be to play someone so unlike yourself, to convey their energy and not your own.

My favorite Anna is Donna Murphy. I never thought that O'Hara was right vocally for Anna.

My vote would go to Constance Towers from the 1977 Broadway revival. I haven't seen Kelli O'Hara as Anna in person, but from what I have seen/herd of her in the role, I really do like her. Admittedly, I'm a huge fan and would probably like her in just about any role, but hey. :D

Proud Sondheimite, Mizzie, Jekkie, Phantom Phan, and many more -- I could make a list!
