How did people get thier hoop skirts to go up for the opening of Act 2?

Push the back down. It's ridiculously easy to do in a real hoop skirt.

Most of our hoop skirts (or at least mine) is broken though, so when I kneel, It falls flat to the floor. I probably should have made that clearer.

We are experimenting with kicking them up with one foot (although with mine, I have to keep it held up) and we've talked about hula hoops sewed into them.

the obvious answer is to tell the costumeer that the skirt is broken and to please get you a new one.

I gotta agree. You only need one good hoop at the bottom to really make it work.

The hula hoop option is sounding pretty simple. Just try it out and see what happens. Trial and error.

I forgot about this thread...

End of story: The new hoop skirts came in finally the day of the opening and the costume mistress pulled off a miracle getting mine ready for me. The hula hoop sewed in the bottom worked wonders.
