I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP ASAP, PLEASE!
Okay, so I'm in a production of The King and I. We open in two weeks. Our director and costumers had some communication issues and failed to provide "concubine" costumes for 12 of our teenage dancers (including myself!). We have dance costumes for the Small House of Uncle Thomas ballet, but none for the chorus scenes!!
We can't be in ANY scenes besides the Ballet if we don't get these costumes together, so my mom volunteered to make the costumes. PROBLEM: She's not a master seamstress or anything, and we only have two weeks to get together 12 costumes that look somewhat royal 1860's-Siam!
Does ANYONE have ANY ideas for costumes that are easy and quick to sew that might look remotely like something that a royal servant or concubine might have worn in 1860's Siam? Even something that might look Asian-esque would work. Anything will help!
THANKS IN ADVANCE!
