Post Go, Go Joseph high note
Hello, I was watching the DVD and loved the high notes done by the Narrator/Joseph (Maria Friedman/Donnie Osmond) at the end of this song. But I listened to another version on a cast recording and the singers played it safe on the end. Does anyone know of any cast recordings where the actors do similar things vocally? Is the movie version available on cd?

The three "New Production" recordings (1991 London Cast with Jason Donovan, 1992 Canada Cast with Donny Osmond and 1993 US Cast with Michael Damian) all use the same ending to "Go Go Go Joseph" that the film does. Pretty much any recording made after 1991 uses that ending, because the 1991 revised version of the score has pretty much become "de rigueur" for professional productions. I'm assuming the CD you heard must have been one of the earlier ones, like the '70s British studio recording or the '82 Broadway Cast.

As for the film soundtrack, it has been available on CD in the UK at least, but unfortunately it seems to be out of print and the lowest price I can find for it online is £35.75.

Thanks for your reply. So sad about the movie soundtrack, hopefully they'll reissue one day :( But I will check out the new cast recordings. PS thanks for my new word of the day: de rigueur :)

Keep your eyes open, it does sometimes show up on "Amazon Marketplace Sellers" and "Ebay".
