Post What I find inspiring.
As a musical writer, what I find most inspiring about Andrew and Jesus Christ Superstar, is how he promoted it. In fact, it had become a tradition of Sir Webber to promote and sell the music first, creating a fan base before the musical was even produced. If it works for him, why not others? Again - inspiring!

Destiny - A new ORIGINAL musical.

He's not the only one to use this tactic, releasing the concept album to build support for a stage production. Others have done it also:

The Who- Tommy, Quadrophenia
Tim Rice and the ABBA Boys- Chess
Elton John- Aida

And some have done it with less success:

Pink Floyd- The Wall
Savatage- Streets
Dream Theater- Scenes From A Memory
Queensryche- Operation: Mindcrime Parts I and II

"I LOVE incarceration,
I could lock up a platoon,
I'll be strapping up an inmate,
Very tightly, very soon.
So wave one bachelor goodbye,
She'll be your bride- she'd rather die
Than have her daddy ossify
In my sordid saloon..."

Well, it wasn't ALW's idea to create a Concept album for JCS or Evita. It was Tim Rice's, so you basically got the Who's Tommy and Tim Rice's works as concept albums. And of course Wildhorn's musicals.

I never use smilies. So do not mistake me for being rude for not returning a wink or a smile.
