Forgive these n00b questions, but I never thought to ask them until I found out that a local theater will be doing this show. Can someone give me some brief description about the characters Emma Carew and Bisset? Also, the show is being advertised with the disclaimer "This show contains violence and adult themes. Viewer discretion advised". What is the so-called 'violence' that might be so disturbing as to warrant a specific advisement?

Emma Carew is Jekyll's fiancee. They changed her name from Lisa to Emma in order avoid confusion with the other girl being named Lucy.

Bisset is a minor role. The drugstore owner, has a couple of lines in "Murder, Murder!"

The violence is the deaths of most of the characters - the board members (all of which are generally dispatched quite violently, including beaten over the head with a walking stick), Lucy, who is stabbed to death, and of course, Jekyll/Hyde themselves die at the end (spoiler :p ).

It depends on the director and production just how graphic the deaths are, but, I can see how they might give a warning.

Emma, as has been said, is betrothed to Jekyll. She's an innocent but far from stupid ingenue, with unfailing faith in Jekyll's work and their love. She's generally a lyric soprano to High C, may mix a bit in her duet with Lucy, "In His Eyes".
