This was our first sing-through of the show... would be grateful for any feedback! I'm still trying to capture Lucy... I figure it's a work in progress!

That was really good. :D You sound like you have a strong voice, which is good for the part and there is still soft emotion there. Great job! I love this song, you're so lucky to be playing Lucy it's one of the parts I would love to play one day. Keep it up! :D

I can't stress how amazingly gorgeous your voice is! SO lush and full... just perfect for Lucy! I wish I could play her, but J&H doesn't seem to be very popular in the UK (not where I live anyway)

Me too, but it's not at all popular down under either. :(

Here's another snippet of me singing the song from a more recent rehearsal. I was trying a more polished take on it! But I'm not sure I like it as much. I need my vibrato always :-(

I have to say that I prefer the first version. Lucy needs less polish, not more. When it comes to Jekyll, she wears her emotions out for everybody to see. Granted it was only a snippet, but the first clip has a wonderful build throughout the song, from the little whispered "gosh, wouldn't that be nice" beginning to "Oh, God, it would be the most awesome thing ever!!!" to the "but it'll never really happen, so all I'll have is this dream" at the end. The first clip conveyed this really well.

Sooo... how was opening, Laura? I bet you were fantastic (even saving your voice)! Any stories you want to share, on-stage production pics when you have them, ect. ? As always, I'd love to have as much info about any production of this show as possible!

Show week stories? Hmmm...

We've got a massive walkway around the top of the stage and in the dress rehearsal, a lady fainted up there.

A women fainted just before Take me As I Am and we had to stall the show for 45 minutes on opening night!

On the same night Lady B was almost derobed when they dragged her dead corpse offstage.

Last night nothing untoward happened. We were starting to call it the curse of J&H!

___

The feedback for the show has been fantastic.

I'm not singing the money notes in SLY, New Life or Bring on the Men atm because of my voice, but hope to get them back for tomorrow and Sat.

Last night we had a recording made so I'll post some clips as soon as they become available!
:-)
