Post Fullerton Civic Light Opera Script?
I know this is a shot in the dark, and I apologize in advance if this offends, but does anyone have the Fullerton Civic Light Opera script that they could send me?

I'd love to obtain the entire script, but I'm particularly interested in the dialogue between Stride and Lucy before "A New Life" and the dialogue between Hyde and Lucy right before he murders her. Thanks in advance for any help!

I live near Fullerton and I still don't know how to get it. I remember the lines go something like Lucy: "He's the only one who didn't treat me like a whore" Stride: "Well at least you know what you really are"

But I know there's tons more. That lead in to a New Life always struck me as well written.

Yes, I agree. The scene between Utterson and Lucy that is used instead in the Broadway version is poignant but doesn't have nearly the dramatic heft that the Fullerton version does. Unfortunately if you cut out Stride being the owner of The Red Rat that scene has to go, too. It's a shame.

I'm still very interested in getting the script, if anyone out there in Webland's got it...

I've seen this production and also versions that have used the script. It's better than broadway's but still sucks. Someone else needs to rewrite it from scratch using the concept album order of things and lyrics. Much like Chess this has great music but a troubled book.

I am in the process of doing just that. I am on my third draft. Things changed significantly between draft 2 and 3 due to my discovery of the 1941 movie, which I love dearly, and am using that timeline, but with quite a few (rewritten) songs from the concept and the complete works recordings.
