Nina Arianda is sooooooooooooooo amazing!!!! Perfect choice!!!!

Personally, though, I think Anna Kendrick would be better cast as Little Red.

If she can sing that well, then i think Anna Kendrick would be an amazing Cinderella.

Donna Murphy is being replaced. Streep is in talks, thank GOD. Murphy was a poor choice in the park this summer, along with Adams and O'Hare.

Also, I hope they keep Whyland. We did shows together growing up. She's amazing!

^ It was just a reading, Jordan. Calm yo' shit, as the kids say. I doubt Murphy was a serious choice, they just grabbed someone who had been working with the material in rehearsals for the show in the Park for convenience.

Lol, I love that you're telling me to calm down for saying 'Thank God', Gib, when you rant and rave on here quite frequently for the smallest of things. And Murphy was a terrible Witch. She should never be allowed near that score again.

Did you actually see the show at The Delacorte? Donna Murphy was in no way a "poor choice" for The Witch. The show suffered from uneven direction and some miscasting (Amy Adams) but Donna did what she was asked to do. I thought she was the best part of the production.

Oh, I saw the show in August. I thought the direction and concept (though borrowed from Regent Park) was amazing.

Donna was a mess. Tempos were changed in Stay With Me because she couldn't sustain the notes in the legato format in which they were written. She was speaking most of Last Midnight (bitch cannot belt), and she had to take key phrases in the finale down an entire octave ("Children will LIIIIISSTEEENNN"). She also sings with a Brooklyn-esque dialect. Its incredibly distracting.

Similarly, her deliveries in Act 2 were completely unjustified. She was yelling lines that are meant to be matter of fact and direct. She was all over the place, and one of the shallowest witches I've ever seen.

One thing I WILL give her credit for, is that she was hysterical in Act 1 without mimicking Bernadette. That's a pretty tough feet. But the bad outweighed the good for me by quite a large margin.

Just watch her in the Sondheim 80th concert. She ruins that song as well. I don't think she's in tune once. Such a shame, too. "Could I Leave You" is one of my top faves.

But, you ARE right, both Adams and O'Hare as the Bakers were pretty awful. Not one of their choices made sense. In fact, O'Hare's whining and negativity made me LOATHE the Baker. That should never happen. And Adams was so petrified of using her wacky sense of humor (seen in Enchanted), she was completely flat the entire show. She got not one laugh when I saw it. Again, something that should never happen.

Johnny Depp is in talk for the movie...

Which role ?

I think it's either the Baker, or a cameo as the Wolf.
