Post Choreography - If mamma was married
I'm auditioning this song with a friend for a concert/showcase thing to audition in January. I'm singing Louise's part and she's singing June's part. She's a much better dancer than i am, which is why she's doing that part, but we need to choreograph it well, to have an advantyage of our song being picked.

Can someone write some tips for each line of song on the lyrics please?

Louise
I wish Momma would marry a plain man so we could all be together...
If Momma was married
We'd live in a house
As private as private can be
Just Momma, three ducks, five canaries,
A mouse, two monkeys, one father, six turtles
And me...
If Momma was married

June
If Momma was married
I'd jump in the air
And give all my toe shoes to you
I'd get all those hair ribbons
Out of my hair
And once and for all
I'd get Momma out too...
If Momma was married

Louise
You've done it before

June
Without much success!

Both
Momma, God speed and God bless
We're not keeping score
What's one more or less
Oh, Momma, say: yes
And waltz down the hall
While you may

Louise
I'll gladly support you
I'll even escort you...

June
And I'd gladly give you away

Both
Oh,. Momma, get married today!

June
If Momma was married there wouldn't be anymore:
"Let me entertain you, let me make you smile!
I would do some kicks!"

Louise
"I would do some tricks!"

June
Sing out, Louise!

Louise
Smile, baby!
Momma, please take our advice
We aren't The Lunts

June
I'm not Fanny Brice

Both
Momma, we'll buy you the rice
If only this once
You wouldn't think twice
It could be so nice
If Momma got married to stay

Louise
But Momma gets married

June
And...

Louise
Married

June
And...

Louise
Married

Both
And never gets carried away
Oh, Momma...
Oh, Momma...
Oh, Momma...
Get married today!

okay.

sorta for when she does the numbers have the numbers in the hand.

let me entertain you: mock the baby dance.

ribbons in hair - have ribbons in hair to pull out or something.

jump in the air - jump and point at foot

do some waltzing...

those are some of them.

Post Re: Choreography - If mamma was married
Here's what seems to be more or less standard choreography, based on every video of this song on Youtube. The directions are in italics. I hope I'm not being dumb.

Louise and June sit at opposite sides of the stage, June at stage left, Louise at stage right
Louise
I wish Momma would marry a plain man so we could all be together...
If Momma was married
We'd live in a house
As private as private can be
Just Momma, three ducks, five canaries,
A mouse, two monkeys, one father, six turtles
And me...
If Momma was married

June
If Momma was married
I'd jump in the air
And give all my toe shoes to you
I'd get all those hair ribbons
Out of my hair
And once and for all
I'd get Momma out too...
If Momma was married

Both stand up in in unison on the word 'Momma' and walk downstage
Momma, get out your white dress

Louise
You've done it before

June
Without much success!

Both
Momma, God speed and God bless
We're not keeping score
What's one more or less
Oh, Momma, say: yes
And waltz down the hall
While you may

Louise
I'll gladly support you
I'll even escort you...

June
And I'd gladly give you away

Both
Oh,. Momma, get married today!

June running to center stage; Louise runs to join her
If Momma was married there wouldn't be anymore:
Doing a cutesy little dance in place while Louise holds her waist and bounces behind her, like when they were little
"Let me entertain you, let me make you smile! they separate
I would do some kicks!"
Typically does a high kick and squeal- though Leigh Ann Larkin did an unenthusiastic kick and a flat, sarcastic "Whee" instead

Louise doing a little dance move of her own
"I would do some tricks!"

She gets down on one knee, holds up her hand, and June takes it and dances around her like when they were little

June
Sing out, Louise!

Louise
Smile, baby!
she stands up and they stand next to each other
Momma, please take our advice
We aren't The Lunts

June
I'm not Fanny Brice

Both
Momma, we'll buy you the rice
If only this once
You wouldn't think twice
It could be so nice
If Momma got married to stay

During the above words, Louise offers June her hand and June takes it

Louise
But Momma gets married

June
And...

Louise
Married

June
And...

Louise
Married

Both throwing up their hands
And never gets carried away
Oh, Momma...
Oh, Momma...
Oh, Momma...
Get married today!
