It probably plays a lot differently on the CD than onstage. I couldn't tell- it's Tulsa in the script who gets that line, and we already know from his "All I Need" that he's prone to hyperventilating.

Was Tulsa always that... um... disturbing, as he is on the cast recording? "WHYYYYY NOT, BABY JUUUUUUUUNE?"

That wasn't Tulsa, that was one of the other boys. And when I saw it, he didn't seem disturbing, in fact he was very good.....

It wasn't Tulsa when I saw it either.
It was another one of the boys. It wasn't disturbing but actually quite funny. To me, it implied the silliness that these boys would have resorted to after so many months doing this stupid act.
I got from it that the boys were just as melodramatic in the act as June. It was quite hilarious.

June was portrayed as a bitch in the Peter's revival. and Kate Reinders did it exceptionally well.

You know what? I've come to the conclusion that you just liked the direction of her in that show, because that child is horrid. How can you like her Dawn? Ugh, I know you liked the fact she lit up a cig, but that was the director, not her. She was just horrid as June, and unfortunately, we have a cast recording to remember it by. Needless to say, I refuse to listen to her awful voice on those songs.

On a similar note, one "new" thing is that Leigh Ann Larkin belted almost every single one of her songs, with the except of "Dainty June and her Farm Boys" where she slipped into some head voice for effect. But, her "If Momma Was Married" and "Broadway" were both all belted. Has a June ever done that before?

Haha. Very funny, Dawn. No, I just honestly hated her portrayal. I dunno, she just didn't do it for me I guess. To each his own I suppose :)
