I may need to join that group.
Did anyone here attend the Barnes and Noble Event yesterday? My friend Dawn did, and said it was amazing. I'm still waiting for some more details.
EDIT: Here's a link to the group if anyone else wants to join.

What does everyone think to the recording?
Personally, Patti can get irritating at times . Those great YouTube impersonations have influenced me.

This recording has passed the OLCR as my favorite.
Hard for me to say, but it is.

Does anyone have the Barnes and Noble version, and notice 'volume peaks'/distortion?

Yes, it's getting to be annoying...
Although Lupone was a little too strident for most of the CD, I really enjoyed her Rose's Turn.

It truly is the definitive recording of the show for me.
Everybody raves about Merman's but I've never been a Merm fanboy and her Rose is painfully flat compared to others.
Patti's is perfection. Best all around cast and production of all the cast albums.
Lansbury's is great, but it's far too truncated and rushed.

Lnsbury is FAR from rushed. she is the most complete Rose yet. the finest.

I think they are referring to the actual quality of the cast recording not the performance.
