I auditioned for Annie once. They told everyone going for the part to sing "Tomorrow" - but I would strongly recommend not doing this unless they ask you to, because listening to countless renditions of that song can be very tedious.

My daughter played Annie twice. She used Go Into Your Dance from 42nd Street. Other songs I've heard people recommend were The Girl I'm Meant to Be from The Secret Garden and Consider Yourself from Oliver.

I think Shy is too "old" for Annie. Its a totally different kind of character. But I'm not an actor, just a mom of one. I think I would try to go with something younger in spirit, but still really upbeat.

Yeah, it kinda sucked. I can only assume they meant i looked too young, because I ended up playing the star-to-be and being in the adult ensemble. I am rather tall.

Out of your 5 choices,

I think Everything's coming up roses is too old, character wise
Shy -- same thing, too old for Annie
A Bushel and a Peck and Put on a Happy Face are both right in character, both would be good.
Go Into Your Dance worked for my daughter, she got Annie with that song, and also a few other auditions.

I like Happy Face and A Bushel & a Peck the best for Annie.

Good luck!

I've always thought that "Put on a Happy Face" would be a great audition song for either Annie or Daddy Warbucks because it resembles "Tomorrow" and "I Don't Need Anything But You".

I got the part of Annie singing the song "Where is Love?" from Oliver. There's some good range in the song for an alto, and it is reminiscent of the song "Maybe". A great choice, in my opinion.
