The girl who sings "NYC." She's in the show that Annie and Warbucks go to see.

Best part in the show, hands down.
She sings a long solo in NYC. Often doubled as Lily St. Regis. GREAT PART.

Yeah, it's a fun part!! Does she sometimes double as Lily? That would have been fun too - our Lily came and stole my suitcases after I put them down. :?

our star-to-be couldn't sing and only got the part because she was one of the older girls in the cast. it was awful when her solo came up and she was the only one onstage singing in a different key than what the pit was playing.

I agree that Star-To-Be is a super cameo role - but it can be a torturous minute or so if the actress cast in the role can't sell that solo vocally. I love "NYC" - it's a crime that the number was cut in the film version of the show - and Andrea McArdle's appearance in the role in the TV film is absolutely magnificent! I've never seen the role taken by the actress playing Lily though.

I also really like "NYC." It is in the 2nd (Audra McDonald and Victor Garber)film, though, which is where I first saw the wintry scene.
