Post Now I Have Everything
Does anyone have any ideas why "Everything" is not in the film version? I find it odd that this was the only song from the show that was cut from the movie (and I'm not counting "The Rumor").

From what I understand, Paul Michael Glaser, who played Perchik in the movie, couldn't sing, and director Norman Jewison didn't want any ghost singers. Michele Marsh, the movie Hodel, wasn't much of a singer either; Hodel has a few sung lines.

She sings the entirety of "Far From The Home I Love"; far from 'a few sung lines'.

I meant in "Now I Have Everything" she has only a few sung lines. Yes, she has "Far From The Home I Love", plus bits and pieces of "Matchmaker" and "Sunrise, Sunset". Michele Marsh's singing style reminds me more of Rex Harrison's Sprachsingen, which he perfected in My Fair Lady.

Plus, there's the fact that it's just not a very good song. It kind of meanders tonally, and really really pales in comparison to most of the other numbers. I was told there was a better song written to replace it for the movie but it got cut for time.
