Lack of humor?
I've heard lots of people (outside of MdN) complain about EVITA's lack of humor. Does anyone else find this to be the case? I personally find several of the songs to have great humor in them (Rainbow Tour, Goodnight and Thank You, Dangerous Jade, to name just a few).

Re: Lack of humor?
I agree with you - any more humour would be too much. It is, after all, a show about a fascist dictator's wife, and as it stands there were those who (wrongly in my view) accused it of trivialising or sanitising its subject. The only humour that works with this sort of subject-matter is satire, and Rice does have a go at that.
Also, how anybody can criticise a musical for lacking a sense of humour when its original version included a song about selling insecticide is beyond me.

There are people that say that? That would almost be like people saying Les Miserables didn't have enough humor. *slow claps*
