Well, my school's theatre people are mostly females, so in our production of Damn Yankees, most of the Senators were girls (playing males), Welch became Miss Welch, and one of the double-casts for Applegate was a girl. Anyway, in one show, where the girl was playing Applegate, our Joe accidentally called her Mr. Applegate. She just glared at him and snapped, "I'm not a man!" The audience loved it. I guess they thought it was intentional. "Poor Joe...he's so upset he's forgetting which gender is which." Or something.

When I was in Damn Yankees, one of the player's shirts caught on fire! He was too close to the smoke machine, and it sparked and caught his shirt!

We didn't have extras, but luckily, he and Welch were the same size, so Welch got the shirt and wore his jacket all the time. The last night he showed the burnt shirt to the audience.

Oh, and one rehearsal a group of us dared one boy to go out without pants on. He did
