I played David and I had a blast. When I gave Robert his birthday present, I gave it to him normally. I noticed when I saw clips from the 23rd anniversary of the show with the original cast and the concert version from 2011, I noticed that George Coe and Jon Cryer were hesitant or afraid to give Robert his gift. I don't understand this. Did I play him correctly or should I played him like the others? Could somebody help me with this?

Re: The character of David
I think you did it the right way. Much respect and love to Harold Prince but the direction in the 1970 production was often very weird.

Thanks. I even saw the opening number which I love but what was strange was when everybody did that penguin walk.
