Post Favourite song
I can't believe there is no such thread yet

So, what is your favourite CATS song? Personally, I think it's hard to decide.

Actually, Jellicle Songs For Jellicle Cats has always been a personal favourite. I think it's a wonderful way to start the show and I always enjoy listening to it.

Another dear favourite has always been Magical Mister Mistoffelees. I also enjoy all versions of Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer. The jazzy OLC and also the OBC versions and of course the new version. Okay, if I go on like that I'd count all songs, because I actually love all songs. Macavity is awesome, same is The Rum Tum Tugger. I absolutely love Old Deuteronomy, Skimbleshanks and The Old Gumbie Cat are fun. Memory and Moments of Happinnes are just beautiful and the Jellicle Ball is simply awesome, so is the Ouverture. The Battle and Growltiger are both just awesome. The Naming Of Cats is also wonderful and one of my favourites! And I love Grizabella - The Glamour Cat. And The Journey To The Heaviside Layer!

I am very. very. very. fond of Bustopher Jones. I have no idea why, but I love that song!

I just love Gus: The Theatre Cat. I love the character and the song. And I love to sing that song, it's definitely a dear favourite.

But my favourite song is The Ad-Dressing Of Cats. I am not sure way, but I simply love that song!

So, my top five favourites would be these:
The Ad-Dressing Of Cats
Gus: The Theatre Cat
The Journey To The Heaviside Layer
Jellicle Songs For Jellicle Cats
Magical Mister Mistoffelees

So, what about you?

Being of the male gender, my favorite has to be "Macavity". Although sensual through its music, this song is aided by good singers as well as dancers. Barbara King played Demeter in the last performances of West End, and the beginning of the 2003 tour. Her portrayal of the skittish Queen showed the complexity of the character as well as the sensuality she needs for this song. My favorite for Bombalurina is Rosemarie Ford, who had the body and the moves as well as the voice. Without the two traits of dance and voice, these two characters cannot do the song justice. Another point - I like the jazz...

Although it's just an instrumental piece, but my favourite is defo the Jellicle Ball. Just because of the incredible dancing.

Besides that, this is my top 5:
Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats
Mr. Mistoffelees
The Rum Tum Tugger
Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer
Macavity

also Skimbleshanks and The Ballad of Billy McCaw are nice tunes. So... difficult choice. ;)

Oh, I just love the Ballad! It's so underrated! I like it way more than In Una...

It took me quite a long time until I actually could say that I like the Ballad. I can't stand the ballad on the OLC album but the re-arranged version that's performed today is so much better than the Aria. And it's quite a nice scene live. :)
I hope they won't cut it from the new version of Growltiger's Last Stand.

Lol sorry, I'm trying to get rid of my old name. Everyone thinks I'm female. xD

well, I think the OLC version is to lengthy, the new arrangement sounds rather funny which matches the whole scene very well; that's why I prefer it. :)
I would like to see the original staging in the whole though. I'm sure it would be interesting.^^
