So then was the Vienna production basically a European tour?]
Actually not... it was in Vienna from 1983 until 1990... as there are summer breaks for musical productions in Vienna, they did some few shows in East-Berlin in 1987 and Moscow in 1988... both times they came back to Vienna after these shows

Gillian Lynne was there because she was the director and choreographer of the Viennese production... and of course because she had to change some directions as they only worked for the German translation ;)

Thanks for the info, Chrissie!

Here are some clips of the new Mexico production at Teatro San Rafael! The costumes look great. I've always been thoroughly impressed with the Mexican casts.

Whoever was creating the costumes for the San Rafael production did a great job! The wigs especially. I don't think they are the originals from the 1991 production, but some of them are lace fronted wigs. Very nice. :-)

Also can someone convert the MP4 video for me of: "Todo Listo Para el Gran Estreno de La Obra" It's one of the Mexican casts and I'd like to see it in FLV format. Thanks!

Did you make that wig?! It's beautiful! And, yes, you can post any Cats related videos.

No VTWC made it. I have to make more of these videos at Mickey's Halloween Party this year.

Cool. Let's do it!

Here's a neat tour of the new Hiroshima, Japan production, with an English voice-over:

Some interviews with the cast of the currently running Mexican regional cast. The costumes are some of the best that I've seen for a non-canon production. Love the "Big Wigs" too!

And another news review:

http://www.citynews.ca/2013/06/12/cats-returns-to-toronto-stage/#related-content-preview

From the new regional Toronto Canadian production. The cast performing Macavity. It's amazing to me how these "professional" costume designers always seem to costume their productions the same way all the time. Solid colors and dabs of paint on the unitards, women's fuzzy wigs, it's almost always the same looking. I have hundreds of photos from various regionals and they all look so similar. Also, the designers never seem to actually look at how the costumes should be colored or patterned. Did they even watch the video to get some ideas? The girls do a good job in this vid, although sorta breathy by the end. Cassie and Vici are the only ones who look decent. Why can't they at least yellow Demeter and red out Bom? It's so strange to me and these are supposed to be professionals? Ugh!

I mean, Growltiger and Griddlebone? I'm serious, someone was not doing their job!
