My goodness, that Alonzo makeup looks quite clownish, and freaky! =/ But I'm guessing that this time is when they were bringing in the heavier full face makeup, and possibly experimenting? Because far away, it didn't look so bad.

Oh, and I'm loving the cigarette in his hand in that full picture. Still doesn't quite beat the smoking Demeter or the alcoholic US Pounce(?). :p

And now, back to your regularly scheduled topic.

In order to what exactly? And what would you need? A robe? A cigarette? Coffee or vodka?

Coffee-buzzed, drunk and wobbly man in a jellicle suit that smells of cigarette smoke and stale sweat.

The most attractive kind of man in the world.

Flitterbug I freaking love you

And yeah now I see the makeup closeup it does look a bit odd.

I would so love to run a theater company but I just don't have the funds. *sigh*

I know that this topic is quite old, but I would like to put my two cents in, especially since I've worked road shows...

Yes, there are 2 different sets the bouncy one and the hard one. They do travel with both and when they tech, they tech both of them (They are teching at my school in October and i've been told we are getting both sets). The set they use will probably depend on the size of the venue and the time they are at that venue. With the complication of the set, if they are at a place for a night or two, they will probably stick with the "bouncy" set mixed with hard or just bouncy. This is due to loading in and out times and where their next destination is.

Rumblepurr did mention that they only tour with heads and they depend on the local crew. These load ins start at 7 or 8 in the morning then go all evening. There are two breaks, a lunch break and a dinner break and 2 15 minute breaks per union. This set up includes EVERYTHING. Rigging, Light set up, set set up, marley lay, sorting props and prop boxes, sorting costumes and wigs, etc... Usually the part that takes the longest is the lights because they either have to wait until set crew has finished what they were doing so they can put their towers, focus on genies, etc... Then the lights sometime gets in the way of the carps so that just slows everything down. Union crews, like Troika, is good knowing what needs to happen in what order so they go a lot more smoothly than some touring companies (Like NETWorks...)

About Mistoffelees's entrance, it all depends on the venue. Some venues are not capable of doing what needs to happen for Mistoffelees to appear from "the heavens" on a rope or whatnot. Touring venues don't always have the adequate space, etc, and the tour needs to have several plans in case this happens and they tech them all during their tech week. Troika did this with Movin Out when they teched at my school in which they teched with the small set and the extended set. If the venue doesn't have the fly space, they won't do certain things, like the Mistoffelees entrance.

A lot of the complaints of tech you have all depends on the venue. It sucks, but if the venue isn't up to par with what it needs, they have an alternate.

If you have any more questions, I can try to answer them or ask my PSM because he toured with Cats for 6 months and I know a carp for Cats who are coming to my school again in october.

Sorry for such a long post and bringing up an old topic...
