Hiya Kid, good to 'see' you!
Yeah, we're all well this side of the ocean. There's a flourishing gang of cosplayers who are getting a real name for themselves at the big fantasy/cosplayer conventions in London - the 'Excel Cats' are now an established part of the big conventions!

(In fact, they might well turn up your side in a week or so... somewhere like Atlanta...)

Another forum I used to visit recently had a Facebook "reunion," and it reminded me of this place. I'm glad to see it still exists, although seeing that most of the old threads are lost is sad.

A lot of the past (and present) is going that way. Interest is waning due to a lack of tour shows and a permanent venue(s). Hard to stay interested when the tour shows up in your area once a year, but when it does not come around at all...?

Glad to see you are still here.

Guys, just wanted to let you know: the book I've been talking of for years has been published this weekend. It features 464 pages (Vol 1. of 3) and 80 illustrations (by me). Right now its in German, but maybe some of you can speak German or are interested to peek at the cover & first 20 pages.

Akeyla...........80 illustrations?????? OMG!!!!!! Any chance you can post some of your best here on the Forum?
You always said you'd publish someday, as I recall. Good for you!
Illustrations need no translation.......do they?

You may be the most accomplished on this old forum!

You go gurl!!!!!!!!! \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

...............
MASA!!!! Thought you fell off the Earth!
Remember our meeting in Japan?
How the heck are you? Your wife? Kids ever?

Guess what, I come to Japan in a few weeks, on way to Singapore. Layover only. Short.

But......a few years ago I landed in Nagoya, rented a car and spent 9 adventurous days
driving through The Japanese Alps to the north. Talk about adventure! No English/I speak no Japanese.
No reservations. No English map. No English road signs. No non-Japanese. No destination. No plan. NO plan at all except to point the car towards mountains and go! Wow! One of the BEST
Trips of my life.......... I've always wanted to repeat!
I remember happening upon the largest Wasabi farm in the world. 100's of school buses. 1000's of school kids. Wasabi in this, Wasabi in that.......all amazing to tour and taste.
Drove all the way up to beautiful Noto Peninsula. Talked with my hands and body language. Befriended the Lighthouse Keeper's family. Stayed with them. Met a cauliflower farmer up there. Helped in the fields. WOW, do cauliflowers EXPLODE in growth just before harvest!!!!!!!
Never met a non- Japanese tourist all 9 days!
Loved it.

Long ago, i loved Japanese CATS. So different than any other show seen anywhere!

Post a fun note here which everyone will enjoy or.........

Send me an email. Same email address. If you've lost it, I'll PM you. So nice to see your name here again!

Kid!
its awesome to hear you :D
and cmon, its not that hard to get a book out. Most of the work is not giving up and setting a goal and working with an aim.
I've got a few illustrations on my website. These are however not exactly the ones in Vol.1 , some are Vol.2 or colored.

*blush* Thank you so much Kid :D

I'll keep you updated with art-links if you like. Even if TB is originally inspired by Munkustrap,- I'm afraid my last real Cats Art is almost 6 years ago.

regards
