Post Non-singing character?
Hi there,

my name is Katie; I'm a sophomore, 5 ft 2, 115 pounds, blonde, green eyes, and I would like to participate in my high school's performance of Bye, Bye, Birdie in May.
I really love to act, but I don't want to sing on my own, and I don't think I'm good enough (even though I made it into our chorus, where I sing Alto II). Ensemble would be ok, though (I don't think I'd have to audition for THAT, being in chorus).
The problem: It is a musical, which means most characters sing at least a few lines on their own or as a duet...
Does BBB have any female characters that don't sing? It doesn't have to be a major role, of course, but I do want a few speaking lines... can you help me?
I'd ask the director (who is also my drama teacher and chorus director) but I guess he'll talk me into auditioning for a siniging role - which I don't want and I'll fail anyway.
I really want to be in this production, and it's my only chance; next year, we might have a play without songs, but I won't be there anymore (I'm a foreign exchange student).

Thanks for your help!
