OLCR.
Its the most complete recording with a wonderful cast and great orchestrations.
Although I do love the OBCR with Chita Rivera and Gwen Verdon too...

well, that answers that quite nicely. however, i will add that nowadways (no pun intended ) the arrangements have changed a bit and - in my opinion - improved.

Well, the OBCR is the worst thing I've ever heard in my life. WAY too much reverb on EVERYONE and crappy performances by most.
I can't choose between OLCR and OBRCR. But I voted for OLCR.

Yep. Gwen Verdon, Chita Rivera, and Jerry Orbach were/are such crappy performers!

Is that meant in a sarcastic way?
If not I don't know how you can say Chita Rivera is a "crappy performer"? She is a Broadway LEGEND!

Although it's just one song, it's off-topic, "All that Jazz" in Russian takes all.
I'm not sure about English recordings.

Erm... did I say they were crappy performers? No. I love Chita Rivera but most of the cast gave crappy performances on the OBCR.

The Broadway revival, for me, is the worst one.
The cast is made up of good actors but their vocals aren't too admireble. Ann Reinking doesn't really have a singing voice and Bebe Neuwirth is just bland. James Naughton isn't anything interesting either. Joel Grey is his usual self.
The London cast is filled with great singers even though Ruthie Henshall annoys me quite a bit. She is just too over the top. Henry Goodman is brilliant as Flynn and I love how Nigel Planer says the last line of "Mr Cellophane" as Neil, the hippy from "Young Ones".
The original is still probably the best. Orbach, Rivera and Verdon are just legendary.
Then there's also the australian cast, which has Geraldine Turner giving a great vocal performance as Velma and Judi Connelly doing Mama brilliantly. Otherwise it's nothing special.

i found the london album quite boring, but it has been quite some time since i've listened to it. i loved james naughton on the revival album, but joel grey does put me to sleep. best amos i've seen so far was kevin caloran (or however you spell it).
whats up with the obc album's version of "Me And My Baby"? it's like all slow n stuff...

My thoughts:
The OBCR is complete crap other than "All That Jazz"
The OLCR is great but boring, I feel.
The revival recording is the best in my opinion.

Broadway Revival Recording.
Bebe Neuwirth... brilliant Velma!
London recording is good, but I don't like Ute Lemper's over-acting.

I prefer the London recording to the Broadway Revival recording - the OBC is not perfect or complete enough, but I'd disagree about the performances, they are wonderful and it's a great favourite.
