Who is your favorite character in the Sound of Music.. and why?
Liesl's my favorite. I can't say I know why.. but I would take Liesl over any of the parts. I think I like her because she wants to be mature, but she's still just a baby.
Who's your favorite?
Can't say I like any of the guys.. Rolf does have his redeeming moments but the Captain.. BLEH!!! Although I do love Max.. I don't love him as I love Liesl.

My favorite character is Elsa, I think because even though she loved the captain she knew that he would only be happy with Maria and let him go...
I think that is a very noble and kind thing to do, not to mention she gets to sing No Way to Stop It, one of my all-time favorites!

Elsa..one of the few non saccirine roles in the show. classy, worldly, amnd practical. plus her songs especially "How can Love Survive" are 2 of the shows only 3 good numbers.

Have you ever played Elsa, Salome? I can definitely see you as her.

I love Elsa. She has the best songs in the play (well...she shares them anyway). If I could play anyone it would be her.

I played Maria, but I didn't like it that much. I tried out for Liesl and now I am SO mad I didn't get it! I like Liesl b/c she is most like me. Trying so hard to grow up and find love. She thinks everything that happens that is good, will stay good. (Which is why when she saw Rolfe as a German, she gasped) She also has a Maria from West Side Story thing going on. And I played her too. But I don't like Maria in SOM b/c she seems so lost in her own world. (Hence: "How do you solve a problem like Maria?") She seems like she didn't love the Captain at first b/c she thought she needed to be alone, she's a lone wolf kind of person. And I'm a people person. We don't match up. The only reason I got the part is b/c I had the voice for Maria. But, in the summer, the town 2 over is doing SOM and I will try out for Liesl there and hopefully get it since the age goes until your 2nd year in college.

Definitely Max. The part can be really funny if done right.

Freidrich. 'Cause I played him. 
I do like Liesl though. Max can be good or can be terribly annoying. I also think Elsa could be great if done well (which I haven't seen yet).

I'm going to have to say Maria, because playing her was absolutely amazing. I loved my stage family so much, and I felt so connected to the role that its been hard to let it go.
