The Very Angry Woman

Your experience in the roaring '20s

Come on, I have to keep up with the trend.

So, flappers and zoot suiters, share your memories.

My grandma was so frickin' cool.

She graduated with a degree in Political Science when hardly any women even went to college, and did it in heels!

But at parties, she usually dumped the bathtub gin into a plant when no-one was looking- she knew folks who went BLIND from a bad batch!

That's so cool, Ophelia. I love the 20's. We're learning about them in AP US right now. We are convinced that our teacher was around then, as she talks about it so vividly.

My AP US teacher is older too, and she loves being old, lol. She uses little quips about it all the time. Like when we did the 60's, she said, "Of course, Americans have always been accustomed to protesting things they don't like. Like what was it they were saying when I was a girl? No taxation without representation." Laughing

See, for me it was the whole flapper thing. That was nice.

Oh, the parties I went to. Good times, good times.

During the 1920s I was experiencing a past life as Eliot Ness, so unlike you lot going to parties and living it up flapper style, I was chasing Al Capone and putting scary gangsters behind bars and all that.

Then The Untouchables came out, and now Kevin Costner gets all the credit. Sigh.

Robert Stack got the credit before Costner did.

Yes ... but then Costner took over and the public, with their limited sense of whatsit, cannot remember who came before. And so decades of history is confined to the dustbin of ...

blah. I need a drink.
