your awful audition...Opps moments!

I wanna hear what awful and/or embarrasing thing you did in an audition!

I'll go first...

I forgot my song title! d'oh!

yes, instead of Simple Joys of Maidenhood I said," Joys of Simple Hoodmaiden." Then I realized that that was wrong and I tried saying it a second time I said, "I mean Simple maidenhood joys?" Mad That wasn't right either!!! I got so nervous I quickly was like,"From the musical Camelot!" After that the directors where like um...ok.

After all that at least I got the lyrics right...not! I started singing...

"Where are the simple maidenhood joys...."

"Shall a prince never kill there blood for me..."

And then squawked out the ending,"Where are the simple joOYS! of maaAidenhoooooooooOoodddnnn!!!"

Well while reading a scene for my Oliver! audition instead of a cockney accent I went into a southern one. Embarassed

(I was in the middle of doing To Kill A Mocking Bird.)

During a dance audition I turned the wrong way and then later ran into a wall.

Oh man, the worst audition I did was an audition for "Grease." I was going to sing "Somewhere That's Green" from "Little Shop of Horrors"...pretty well-known song, right? Now this was a semi-professional theater with a wonderful reputation in the town and the pianist had TONS of experience doing auditions and vocal coaching. I begin to sing, and realize that the accompaniment is almost unrecognizable. It sounds AWFUL, like tin cans clunking together. Not knowing what to do, and knowing I was singing it correctly, I just kept going. Ugh, it sounded sooo bad, like I wasn't in the right key!

Later, the pianist came up and apologized, saying, "sorry, I didn't know the song, and I accidentally played it without the sharps and flats."

WHAT?!? Shocked Of course, she never told that to the director, and I didn't even make the ensemble. Grrrr.
