Young TarzanStupid Question.....
I noticed in the Behind-the-Scenes vid that there were two children for the role of Young Tarzan. I knew that before; it would just be insane having one kid do eight shows a week for an undetermined amount of years!
But I'm wondering how they alternate. Because the Behind-the-Scenes video was taken right before a performance, and both of the kids were in the dressing room. Why would they need both of the kids there for one performance? Wouldn't it make more sense to alternate shows instead of scenes?
And - a side note: those kids are SPOILED!! They have high-speed internet in their dressingroom!!!! What the hell!!!!! All I have is a costume... ....stupid Community Theatre!

They do alternate performances, however I'm sure they both have to be there in case something goes wrong.

Yeah they alternate performances but essentially are always the others understudy.

They did this in those Neil Simon comedies such as Brighton Beach Memoirs.

anyone know how old the boys are?

My guess is somewhere in the range of 8 - 11. They need intense dance/stunt skills, but they can't have gone through puberty.

Yep...I think they even said that in the video.

Yeah, like The Lion King kids, they all need to be in the theatre for every show.
Seems stupid to me but, whatever.

Well, for example.
What if at the end of "Just Can't Wait to Be King" Young Simba fell off of the animal he stands/sits on? Who would fill in for him? The other Young Simba.
I haven't seen Tarzan, but doesn't he do some kind of aerial stunts with the vine swinging? What if something went wrong and he got hurt? The other Young Tarzan would go on.
And yes, I agree. The other is there just in case.

Is anything ever did happen to them on the harness, wouldn't they stop they show?

There is always a possibility something will go wrong, even with a harness. Yes they could stop the show, but that wouldn't end the Young Simba/Tarzan from being hurt! Why stop the show when you could just have the other kid go on in his place?
You of all people should know! On the night Idina Menzel had her little fall and broke her ribs, they didn't just end the show early. Shoshana Bean just did the last 10 minutes in her place!
It would be like that if something ever happened to a young tarzan/simba.

Oh god, yeah. I never thought of the Idina incident. I suppose it's like a "child standby".
I like the way you saud, "You of all people shold know!" It made me feel special.

everyone is right, they are there as a standby/understudy. I did see this happen on a tour of the lion king, in one of the beginning scenes young simba did a big jump and landed funny and fell to the ground, he kind of crawled off in character, then the curtain came down and an announcement said the show would restart in 5 mins with the other childs name playing young simba. It was very interesting, but sad for that kid!

It isn't so much "computer lingo" as much as it is proper grammar that you use. I'm fine with "w/e" and "lol", but when all of your posts are just big run-on sentences it can get annoying.

Ok Alex Rutherford and daniel Manche originated the role of Young Tarzan, they split up the shows, Alex played YT for 4 days and Daniel played YT for the other 4 days, then daniel outgrew the part so thats when they brought in Dylan Riley Snyder fro the role. So then Alex and Dylan alternated the roles, then alex was suppose to leave sometimne in july but since they already told the other boy Brad bowers that in the contract it told them that Brad had to play YT 4 times before the show ended.
